Soccer

Our program is based on a developmental sport philosophy; concentrating more on learning and less on winning. Our hope is to create a positive environment for our children to learn the game of soccer and spend quality time with friends and family. Our league consists of teams from Poland, Minot/Hebron and Mechanic Falls. Soccer directors from all three departments/ organizations work together to organize and plan this program each season. Our slogan is "Four Towns One Goal". We are all working together to provide consistancy and quality throughout this program. Our junior level has joined the Buckfield/ Turner league in order to provide a wider variety of teams to play. This level does require some out of town travel for games.

Our program is divided into 5 divisions which are described below. Participants may be placed in a different division at times due to number of registrants/ ability. We discourage moving children up early where each level is designed to develop different skills over a 2 season span.

Fun With Soccer: Age 3
HOSTED BY Poland Parks & Recreation
All towns should register through Poland Parks & Recreation office
Participants and parents will get together each Sunday in September- October for 30 minutes to play fun games and learn simple soccer skills.
Location: PRHS Rt. 11 Fields.
No game situations will be presented at this level.

Instructional Soccer
Sundays
Pre-K & Kindergarten
8 Sessions/ 45 minutes each
1/2 hour skill development
15 minute 4 v 4 game to follow instruction
Size 3 Ball
Min: 6 Max: 8 players per team.
Pug Goals
Coaches will referee games
Hosted by each town accordingly.
For Poland residents-Location is PRHS/ Rt. 11 Fields.

Beginner Soccer: Grades 1 & 2
1 practice per week beginning the week of August 21st
1 game per week on Sundays @ Minot Fields between 9a-1p.
4- 8 minute quarters
5 v 5 plus goalkeeper
Suggested team size min: 8 max: 10
Substitutions at the quarters
No off side calls will be made
Break time will be determined by coaches

The Recreational Youth Soccer League is comprised of teams from Poland, Minot/ Hebron, and Mechanic Falls. At the Junior Boys & Girls levels we have joined with the Buckfield/ Turner league and will alternate home/ away games.

Our game rules vary per age level and we try to instruct with every whistle.

TO BECOME A REFEREE FOR OUR YOUTH SOCCER LEAGUE:

Must be age 15+
Must have soccer knowledge
Must attend a brief referee training prior to the beginning of the season
Must be available during Saturdays or Sundays for 8 weeks September - October

We pay certified referees $15.00 per game
We pay our referees $10.00 per game
We pay our referees in training $5.00 per game
