What is Camp Connor?
Camp Connor is a 9-week day camp located on Connor Ln. in Poland, Maine
The camp rests on 12 acres of land that includes our main building, restrooms, playground, newly built camp shelter, a beach area, large playing field and peninsula.

Boys and Girls going into grades 1st-8th (Fall of 2024)
Camp Connor Details
- Campers can attend 1 week, or the entire 9 weeks. You choose!
- The majority of camper's time will be spent alternating through small and large group activities on-site utilizing our recreational facilities including outdoor life skills, team building, sports and games, performing arts, kayaking, swimming, etc...
- All campers have an opportunity to swim daily (weather permitted). Any campers that choose not to swim; an alternate activity will be planned. Swimming area is staffed by fully trained personnel.
- Each week has a special theme with different specialized activities, which may include on-site guests and a Friday afternoon party.
- All campers will have the opportunity to develop connections with same-aged peers, older/younger campers and our super awesome staff!
CAMP FEES
Fortunately we did not have to raise our rates this year due to the minimum wage increase. Yah! Each year we are providing $14,000 back to the town for the overall purchase of the camp property. So far we have paid the town back $56,000. We also contribute $6,000 annually towards our Campership scholarships (for Poland residents who are eligible for free lunch). Any monies left over are invested back into camp.
Poland Residents
$200 per week (1st child), $180 per week (2nd child), $160 (3rd child or more)
Non-Residents
$220 per week (1st child), $200 per week (2nd child), $180 (3rd child or more)
IMPORTANT - Camp fees are due in full TWO WEEKS prior to when the camp week starts. Full amount is not due at the time of registration (see deposit required to secure your spot), although you are more than welcome to pay in advance. However, any/all balances MUST be paid in full for all camp weeks by August 1st.
DEPOSITS
We require a $20 deposit per week/per child at the time of registration. This secures your child(ren)'s spot at camp.
Deposits are still required if you receive a Campership.
CAMP DATES
June 17th - August 16th (9 weeks)
CAMP TIMES
Drop Off: starting at 7:00am
Pick Up: no later than 5:30pm
(A late fee will be charged if camper is picked up after 5:30pm)
PARTICIPANT LIMIT
We cap at 115 campers per week. If you register your child(ren) after we reach 115 campers, they will be automatically be placed on a waitlist. You will be notified if/when your child(ren) are moved off the waitlist.
CAMP DIRECTOR
Welcome our new Camp Director - Amy LaPrell!
Amy is also a teacher at Poland Community School, and comes with lots of experience working with children and summer camps.
We wish Morgan well on her next adventure with finishing school.
STAFF
We anticipate the majority of our staff returning!
MEALS
Last year we were able to participate in the Summer Food Program through RSU16. This allowed us to supply free Breakfasts & Lunches to all campers (if they chose).
We do not yet know if this program will be available this year. We will keep you informed prior to the start of camp if it becomes available.
WEATHER
Since our newly built camp structure was put in at camp in 2022, we have reduced the number of days in which we've had to cancel camp due to weather.
In the event we have to cancel camp, we will notify all families via the Band app, email and text as soon as possible.
NEW TO CAMP?
If your child has never attended camp, we will be offering an Open House sometime in June so you and your child get an opportunity to see our campus and meet the Camp Director.

HOW TO REGISTER:
Go to PolandRec.com and log-in to your Recreation account.
Once logged in, go under the REGISTER drop down menu and select "Programs"
Click on the Camp Connor 2024 icon.
Select each week you would like your child(ren) to attend camp. After you select the first week, you will then click "return to program" to add additional weeks.
Once done, click on your cart.
REQUIRED FORMS - Camp Connor Required Forms 2024
In order for you to complete your Camp Connor registration, you will need to add to your cart the "Camp Connor Required Forms 2024" for each child you are registering. To add to your cart, go to the REGISTER drop down menu, click MEMBERSHIPS, then select "Camp Connor Required Forms 2024"
Add for each child you will be registering for camp.
You will then be prompted to complete 5 forms (Photo Release, T-shirt size, Health & Wellness, Pick-Up Authorization, Swimming & Kayaking experience) for each child.
The purpose of completing these free forms as a "membership" is to save you time filling out the forms for each camp week. This allows you to only have to fill them out once per camper.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
At the end of your registration you will have two options:
"Check out Online" (on the left)
"Print a Pre-Registration Form" (on the right)
If you check-out online, this pays your balance in full. You will be charged a 3% processing fee for all credit card transactions.
If you choose to Print a Pre-Registration Form, you must select "Yes" on the next page to complete your registration!
If you don't confirm on the next page, your items will sit in your cart for 24 hours then disappear.
You can pay by cash or check in our office if you choose the option on the right (Print Pre-Registration form). You do not have to actually print your form. We will receive a confirmation email once you've registered.
REFUND POLICY
Prior to May 1st - If you have paid for camp and need to cancel any week(s), we will refund you your full amount minus a $10 cancellation fee.
May 1st to 14 days prior to the start of the registered camp week - If you have only paid for your deposit for any week in which you wish to cancel, you will not get your deposit back. If you've paid in full, you will be refunded your full amount minus your $20 deposit.
Within 14 days of when the camp week starts - If you cancel within 14 days of when you are registered to start, we will refund you 50% of the registration amount (if paid in full).
If you have not paid your registration fee in full, and you still cancel within that 14 day window, you will be charged 50% of the registration fee if your spot cannot be filled.
If you would like to switch any of your camp weeks to an alternate week, you may do so without penalty if there is space available to accommodate your child(ren).
CAMPERSHIP - Poland Residents ONLY
Thanks to the generous contributions from a Poland family we are continuing our scholarship program for Poland children to be able to attend Camp Connor at a reduced rate.
To qualify, Poland residents must receive "free" lunch through their school. Once your Campership application is received, we will verify eligibility through the RSU16 Food Director.
NOTE - Poland home schooled children can apply as well, with the understanding that financial information will need to be provided to verify need. Please reach out to our office for more info. 998-4650.

You can also stop into our office for an application.
Campership will be awarded to families starting March 4th. We will consider a maximum Campership of $120 off per week week of camp, up to 6 weeks. The overall community need and available funding will determine how many weeks/campers we can provide a Campership for.
NON-RESIDENTS:
For non-Poland residents, we apologize we cannot extend our Campership to your children. We encourage you to visit local businesses within the town you reside and see if a local business would be willing to sponsor your child to attend a week or so of camp. We have a brochure available to share with you if you'd like to pursue this option. Please stop into our office during business hours.
Camp Connor Theme Weeks
Week 1: June 17th - June 21st
Summer Luau: Hello Summer! Time to unwind, relax and get into the swing of Summer. Be ready to enjoy a ton of activities, let out energy and celebrate the start of Summer!
Week 2: June 24th - June 28th
Superheroes Unite!: There is a villain on the loose and we need all the help we can get! Think of your favorite superhero, or create your own, and come ready to learn how to help save the day!
Week 3: July 1st - July 5th
Stars and Stripes: Happy Independence Day! Throughout this week of camp, we will be celebrating the red, white and blue. Join us for exciting lawn games, relays, an All-American BBQ and so much more!
Our older group will be going on a special kayak adventure weather permitting.
Week 4: July 8th - July 12th
Camp Connor Summer Olympics: We are hosting the Camp Connor Olympics with events for everyone! Focusing on teamwork, exploration, excitement and fun. It will be a week to remember! Who will take home the gold?
Week 5: July 15th - July 19th
Animal Planet: Ready to learn about some awesome animals? This week at Camp
Connor, we will search for animals tracks, engage in animal-themed crafts and activities, invite some special guests and explore the wonderful wildlife around camp!
Week 6: July 22nd - July 26th
Full STEAM ahead: Bring on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math! Experiments, special guests and more! Be sure to pack your imagination!
Week 7: July 29th - August 2nd
3-2-1 Blast Off!: We can't travel to outer space ourselves but we can create our own galaxy right here in Poland! Play and learn about all things planets, stars and astronauts!
Week 8: August 5th - August 9th
The Amazing Race: Get ready for completing missions and challenges. We will have detours and roadblocks along the way so get ready for an adventure! Camp Connor is waiting for you!
Week 9: August 12th - August 16th
Under the Big Top: Join us for the final week of fun in the sun at Camp Connor with the Circus! Do you know how to juggle? Can you do a backflip? We will end the summer sharing our hidden talents!
