SOCCER
REGISTRATION DEADLINE for all soccer levels:  July 15th

Registration is open for all Poland and Mechanic Falls residents ONLY! Mechanic Falls and Poland are collaborating with certain programs.  Players and coaches are working as one larger soccer community.

SOCCER DIRECTOR: Looking for a new Soccer Director
This is a stipend position for someone who loves soccer and can share their talents leading our instructional programs and some site supervision.

PROGRAM INFORMATION
Our program is based on a developmental sport philosophy; concentrating more on learning and less on winning. Our hope is to create a positive environment for our children to learn the game of soccer and spend quality time with friends and family.

General Information:
Our program is divided into 5 divisions which are described below.  We discourage moving children up early where each level is designed to develop different skills over a 2 season span.

Soccer Levels: 
Grade going into the Fall of 2024 (By October 15, 2024)
Fun with Soccer = Age 3 (By October 15, 2024)
Instructional Soccer = Prek & K
Beginner level = Grades 1 and 2
Intermediate level = Grades 3 and 4
Junior level = Grades 5 & 6

Swag T-Shirts:  Support your team! We have swag t-shirts available to purchase in either navy blue or sport gray.
Youth sizes = $12.00
Adult sizes = $15.00
Customize each t-shirt for an additional cost. Add your players first or last name on the back for $8
Add your players first name, last name or jersey number to the sleeve for $3. Please be sure to add customization to your cart for EACH t-shirt you order.

Fun With Soccer:  
Age 3 (By October 15th - No Exceptions)
COST = $35.00
HOSTED BY Poland Parks & Recreation
All towns should register through Poland Parks & Recreation office
DAYS: Sundays
DATES: September 8- October 27
TIME: 10:30am-11:00am
8 sessions/ 30 minutes each to play fun games and learn simple soccer skills.
LOCATION: PRHS Rt. 11 Fields.
No game situations will be presented at this level.
Child will need to be age 3 by October 15th - This is the general cut-off date for schools for entering into grade levels. 
Jersey Included
Cleats and shin guards are not required at this level

INSTRUCTIONAL SOCCER - PreK & K
COST: $45.00
DAYS: Sundays 
DATES: September 8- October 27
TIME: 11:15am-12:00pm
Pre-K & Kindergarten
8 Sessions/ 45 minutes each
1/2 hour skill development
15 minute 4 v 4 game to follow instruction
Size 3 Ball
Min: 6  Max: 8  players per team.
Coaches will referee games
Hosted by each town accordingly. 
For Poland and Mechanic Falls residents-Location is PRHS/ Rt. 11 Fields.
Moisture controlled Jersey Included
Cleats and shin guards are not required at this level.
 
BEGINNER SOCCER - Grades 1&2  
COST: $60.00
1 practice per week beginning the week of August 19th 
1 game per week on Sundays @ Minot Fields between 9a-1p.
Games will begin September 8th thru October 27th
4- 8 minute quarters
5 v 5 plus goalkeeper
Suggested team size min: 8  max: 10
Substitutions at the quarters
No off side calls will be made
Break time will be determined by coaches
NO SLIDE TACKLES

25W x 35L yards
Ball Size 3
6 foot goals
Coaches will referee
Sublimated Jersey with last name on back included
Socks included.
Cleats and shin guards are required at this level.
 
INTERMEDIATE SOCCER - Grades 3 & 4
Cost: $70.00
1 -2 Practices per week beginning the week of August 19th
1 game on Sundays @ PRHS Route 11 field between 1p-4p 
Games will begin September 8th thru October 27th 
4- 10 minute quarters
7 v 7 plus goalkeeper
Suggested team size min: 10  max: 12
Substitutions at the whistles
Off sides will be called
2 minute break @ quarters
5 minute break @ half
NO SLIDE TACKLES

Ball Size 4
12 foot goals
High School/Adult Referees
Sublimated Jersey with last name on back included
Socks included.
Cleats and shin guards are required at this level.
 
JUNIOR BOYS - Grades 5 & 6

Combined team from Mechanic Falls and Poland registrations

Our Beginner and Intermediate league consist of teams from Poland/Mechanic Falls, Minot/Hebron (MHAA), and St. Dom's.  Soccer directors from all 3 organizations work together to organize and plan this program each season. 

Our Junior level participates in the Buckfield/ Turner league in order to provide a wider variety of teams to play.  This level does require some out of town travel for games.

SPORTS RECYCLING
Do you need Cleats or shin guards?
Stop by and check out our sports recycling program.  There is no cost. We do not hold sizes, instead we ask that the person(s) needing cleats or shin guards stop in and try them on.

Do you have cleats and shin guards to donate?
If so, please drop them off at our office.  We will clean them and make them available to families in our communities at no cost!

TO BECOME A REFEREE FOR OUR YOUTH SOCCER LEAGUE:

Must be age 15+
Must have soccer knowledge
Must attend a brief referee training prior to the beginning of the season
Must be available during Saturdays or Sundays for 8 weeks September - October

We pay certified referees $40.00 per game; non-certified $30.00 per game

If you are interested in refereeing for our Youth Soccer League; please contact Scott Segal @ 838-8632 or prior to August 1st to get the training information and be put on the schedule for the upcoming season.

HOW TO REGISTER/PAY 
Please visit www.PolandRec.com
Under the "Register" drop down  menu, select Programs.
Select "Soccer - Fall 2024"

Payment Options
At the end of registration, you will have two options:
OPTION 1 (button on the left): Pay entire amount via credit card online (subject to a 3% processing fee) or
OPTION 2 (button on the right) choose "Print a Pre-Registration Form"  to pay via check or cash. A red message will then pop up saying,
“You will not be registered until payment is received”
Please hit the green “Yes” button to complete the registration. We will then see it on our end to complete your registration. If you don’t hit “Yes”, we will not see that you are attempting to register and you will have to start over.
You will receive an email confirmation when registration is complete.

Payments can be dropped off in our office during office hours, or placed in our drop box. Our drop box is located directly to the left of our office entrance. Please place payment in the door, so it drops to the bottom when you close it.
