Camp Connor 2025

We are back for another great year of Camp Connor!
For families returning, you will notice the registration process is a little different this year.
Every year we try to streamline registration to make it easier for you!
At the bottom you will see only one registration option. Please follow these steps for registration:
1.) Select member (child) you wish to register
2.) Select "Register (child's name)"
3.) Select "Choose Options"
4.) Select the weeks you'd like your child to attend camp then hit "Continue"
5.) If you only have one child, hit "Check Out"
If you have more than one child to register, select "Return to Program", change the member and repeat steps 1-4.
6.) Once you are done adding the weeks for each child, you will select "Check Out".
From here you will fill out the necessary forms for Camp Connor for each child.

See complete camp details below :)

What is Camp Connor?
Camp Connor is a 9-week day camp located on Connor Lane. in Poland, Maine.

The camp rests on 12 acres of land that includes our main building, restrooms, playground, newly built camp shelter, a beach area, large playing field and peninsula.

GRADES: 1st-8th (Fall of 2025)
NOTE - Where we open registration in January, we have Kindergarten listed as the minimum grade. This is only to allow those entering 1st grade in the Fall to be able to register before grades automatically move up in June.

A DAY AT CAMP
- Campers can attend 1 week, or the entire 9 weeks. You choose!
- The majority of camper's time will be spent alternating through small and large group activities on-site utilizing our recreational facilities including outdoor life skills, team building, sports and games, performing arts, kayaking, swimming, etc...
- All campers have an opportunity to swim daily (weather permitted). Any campers that choose not to swim; an alternate activity will be planned. Swimming area is staffed by fully trained personnel.
- Each week has a special theme with different specialized activities, which may include on-site guests and a Friday afternoon party.
- All campers will have the opportunity to develop connections with same-aged peers, older/younger campers and our super awesome staff!
-We anticipate going on a few half day field trips:  TBD

CAMP FEES
Unfortunately due to rising costs, we did have to raise our rates $10.00 per child/per week this year. Each year we are providing $14,000 back to the town for the overall purchase of the camp property. So far we have paid the town back $84,000. We also contribute annually towards our Campership scholarships (for Poland residents who are eligible for free lunch). Any monies left over are invested back into camp.

Poland Residents
$210 per week (1st child), $190 per week (2nd child), $170 (3rd child or more)
Non-Residents
$230 per week (1st child), $210 per week (2nd child), $190 (3rd child or more)
NOTE - For the week of July 4th, we will only be open Monday-Thursday due to the holiday. This is week 3 of camp. We have reduced this week of camp to reflect the closure.

IMPORTANT - Camp fees are due for each week in full TWO WEEKS prior to when that camp week starts. Full amount is not due at the time of registration (see deposit required to secure your spot), although you are more than welcome to pay in advance. Your child will not be able to attend camp until the balances for each registered week is paid in full prior to when it begins.

DEPOSITS
We require a $20 deposit per week/per child to secure their spot at camp. Deposits are due no later than 30 days after you register.
All deposits must be paid by May 1st.
If you wish to pay the deposit at the time of registration (subject to a 3% processing fee), at the very end of your registration on the payment page, the amounts for each week of camp is editable. You can change the amount to $20 for each line item and pay the deposit at that time.
Deposits are still required if you receive a Campership.
If you register after May 1st, deposits are due within two weeks of registration to hold your child's spot at camp.

CAMP DIRECTOR
Welcome back Camp Director Amy LaPrell!

STAFF
We anticipate the majority of our staff returning!

MEALS
Last year we were able to participate in the Summer Food Program through RSU16. This allowed us to supply free Breakfasts & Lunches to all campers (if they chose).
We do not yet know if this program will be available this year. We will keep you informed prior to the start of camp if it becomes available.

WEATHER CANCELLATIONS
Since our newly built camp structure was put in at camp in 2022, we have reduced the number of days in which we've had to cancel camp due to weather.
In the event we have to cancel camp, we will notify all families via the Band app, email and text as soon as possible. In 2024 we cancelled 1 day of camp.

NEW TO CAMP?
If your child has never attended camp, we will be offering an Open House sometime in June so you and your child get an opportunity to see our campus, meet the Camp Director and a few of our amazing staff!
Date TBD

CAMPERSHIP - Poland Residents ONLY
Thanks to the generous contributions from a Poland family we are continuing our scholarship program for Poland children to be able to attend Camp Connor at a reduced rate.
To qualify, Poland residents must receive "free" lunch through their school. Once your Campership application is received, we will verify eligibility through the RSU16 Food Director.
NOTE - Poland home schooled children can apply as well, with the understanding that financial information will need to be provided to verify need.  Please reach out to our office for more info.
207-998-4601, ext "5"

To apply for a Campership for your child(ren), please click the link below under FORMS and print out the application form.

You can also stop into our office for an application.
Applications can be emailed to: ssegal@polandtownoffice.org
or dropped off to our office.

Campership will be awarded to families starting March 3rd. We will consider a maximum Campership of $140 off per week of camp, up to 6 weeks. The overall community need and available funding will determine how many weeks/campers we can provide a Campership for.

NON-RESIDENTS:
For non-Poland residents, we apologize we cannot extend our Campership to your children. We encourage you to visit local businesses within the town you reside and see if a local business would be willing to sponsor your child to attend a week or so of camp. We have a brochure available to share with you if you'd like to pursue this option. Please stop into our office during business hours.
