Our Softball program is based on the Cal Ripken League guidelines and is a developmental program for girls ages (6) -14 to learn the necessary skills and rules to play the game.
New this year, we are joining the Auburn Suburban League for 8U (Will play MHAA and Auburn teams), 10U & 12U (Will play teams from Auburn, Lewiston, Turner, Greene, and Lisbon)
14U will continue playing with Turner, Oxford, Auburn, Lewiston, etc...
Going into this season Babe Ruth Softball changed their age eligibility date from December 31, 2025 to August 31, 2025..so your child's age is considers whatever her age is as of August 31, 2025.
Division breakdown:
8U-ages 6,7 or 8 (Birth period Sept 1, 2016 – Aug 31, 2018)...Coach pitch or machine pitch
10U-ages 9-10 (Birth period Sept 1, 2014 – Aug 31, 2016)...player pitch
12U-ages 11-12 (Birth period Sept 1, 2012 – Aug 31, 2014)...player pitch
14U-ages 13-14 (Birth period Sept 1, 2010 – Aug 31, 2012)...player pitch
Question? Could an 8 year old play 10U? Or a 10 yr old play 12U? or a 12 yr old play 14U? Short answer yes, however we are going to try and avoid moving younger players up early unless, (1) they have exceptional skill and there is room on a team for them. Our program goal is to keep number of players per team 9-12 players to optimize playing time.

All stars season begins following the regular season.
**Note: Softball is a team sport that requires positioning of players.
Coaches are responsible to place players based on safety, skill level and desire. Parents are welcome to give feedback to the coach with the understanding that the coach makes the final decision on player positioning.
Note for 6 year olds...You can keep your child in tee ball if you wish, especially if they have not played any organized ball, we would recommend such.
