PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The BASC program follows the RSU 16 school schedule. During holidays, weekends and school closures, BASC will be closed. As long as school is open, care is available on half days for afternoon children and for delayed start for morning children.
The program is closed on vacations, snow and other school closure days, including early release due to inclement weather or other emergencies.

FACILITY
We will be utilizing the Poland Town Hall as home base. We will still have access to the Poland Community School gymnasium, playground and field. By utilizing the Town Hall during the warm months, the building has air conditioning. It also gives the students access to activities near the Town Hall building such as the library, ice skating rink in the winter, and future access the the municipal park we are building behind the recreation office.

ELIGIBILITY
Children that attend any of the RSU 16 schools enrolled in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Currently there is no bus arrangement to pick up or drop off children to or from our BASC program. For that reason Minot & Mechanic Falls residents may have difficulty participating in the program. If you are able to arrange transportation for you child to and from school, they can attend our BASC program.

ASSESSMENT PERIOD
A six week assessment period applies to each child in the program. If staff determine that any child requires additional support to keep a child safe, the parents will be asked to supplement any additional costs.

LATE FEES
All children must be picked up by 5:30pm. There will be a $1 fee added for each minute a child is picked up late. This late fee will be applied to that week's balance.

All payments are required to be paid on a weekly basis on the week that services are rendered. Payments are due on Mondays, regardless if there is a holiday closing. If we do not receive payment by that Wednesday, a $10 late fee will be added to that week's balance. If payment is not paid before the next week starts, we reserve the right to suspend your child from the program until your account is made current.

TAX INFORMATION
You can access your account for any financial records. At the end of each year, we will submit a tax letter detailing your total program costs submitted during that program year.

SIGNING IN & OUT
Parents or a designated person must sign a child(ren) in in the morning, and sign them out in the afternoon.

PICK AUTHORIZATION
Upon registering for the program, we will ask whom is authorized to pick up your child.
If for any reason you have a family situation in which your child is not allowed to go with someone, please provide this information in writing. If there are any legal stipulations, we need to have this information in writing.

ABSENCE
If for any reason your child(ren) will be absent, the program staff must be notified by phone, email, in person or through the program app. This is especially important for the afternoon session. Calling out of school does not help us in the notification process as we are not affiliated with the school system and are not provided this information. When we collect the children from school, the staff members take attendance before walking back to the Town Hall. If staff are not aware of an absence, they will look for that child until found.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
If your child is participating in extra curricular activities during program hours please inform us prior to your child starting the activity.

SNACKS
A snack will be providing during the afternoon session. A child may bring his/her own snack. Donations of snack items are greatly appreciated! Please note that we must adhere to the schools policy when it come to types of snacks that can be in school specifically regarding policy on peanut and other nut products. If your child has any particular allergies, please notify us so we can be sure to provide a snack alternative.
