Bobby Brown Scholarship

Bobby Brown was a “top shelf” community member who always hit the ground running and lived life to the fullest. He had a passion for NASCAR. He spent many weekends at camp, hunting fishing and snowmobiling. He spent summers coaching and playing adult softball. #24 was known as the #1 coach and the team often said “regardless of how the season ended we always had the coach of the year”. He enjoyed attending the countless cheering competitions for his three girls. He volunteered many hours to helping the Poland Recreation Department with events and programs.  He supported the High School athletic teams and always lent a hand if needed.  He served with the Poland Fire and Rescue in the 1970’s and 80’s and was a member of the Poland Planning Board.  Bobby will be missed, but we hope this scholarship will help keep his memory, dedication and work ethic alive; inspiring students to strive to support their community as Bobby did.

The Poland Recreation will offer a $200.00 Scholarship, in Bobby Brown’s Name, annually to a PRHS  graduating senior student athlete, who has participated in at least one sport throughout their 4 year high school career, and has dedicated time to helping the his/ her community through coaching or other means of Community Service.
