Tri-Town Skate Park
Poland Recreation Department and Mechanic Falls are teaming up to bring a new skate park to our local communities. The pictures on this page are 7 pieces of the skate park in Glenburn, Maine that we are going to purchase at a very reasonable cost.
The location of the park will be behind the tennis courts in Mechanic Falls, next to the existing basketball court.
Why a Skate park? A skate park will provide those who skate board, freestyle bike, and in-line skate a place to practice, without having to go to areas such as parking lots and private property. Other communities with skate parks have proven that having healthy alternatives for teens can reduce crime and property damage. This keeps youth and young adults involved in something positive and productive and can encourage physical exercise.
We are hoping that you or your company will take part in making a positive change in the lives of local kids!
Our goal is to raise = $12,100.00 which will cover the following costs;
Skate park equipment = $3,600
Light upgrades = $1,500
Chain link fence = $ 5,000
Signage = $1,000
Maintenance = $1,000
