The town of Poland is in the process of creating "Waterhouse Park" along the river.
The boulders have been put in place to help keep vehicles off the grass area. The remaining turn-around is a fire lane and drop off for canoes/kayaks. Please do not park in the fire lane! The grass area was never meant to be a parking lot.
We ask that folks park either in the Public Works parking lot or on the other side of the river, along the road.
We understand this is a change in how things have been operating. We hope you will help us support the development of a park.
We are in the process of getting new signs;
No swimming
Above the dam is not a safe place to swim. It has been discouraged for years, however we have not had proper signage.
Kayak and Canoe launch
We hope to eventually have a dock to allow easier access for kayaks and canoes.
We are also asking that large groups find a different site to launch from, as this access point is not very big.
